“There’s
a great class with Holly Powell in Los
Angeles, she walks you through the four
steps of testing: Pre-Read, Producers,
Studio, and Network. I think the more
we can arm ourselves with what each step
is about, the more at ease we’ll
feel. It demystifies it, which is exactly
what that process needs. Bring it down
from the epic to the mundane.”

“As a successful
personal manager for more than twenty
years I have worked with many Casting
Directors. The most knowledgeable of them
all is Holly Powell. Due to the combination
of her professional experience, practical
understanding of the casting process and
her fondness for actors, Holly has created
an extraordinary workshop, unlike all
others, that shows actors how to easily
navigate the steps needed to win the role!
The end result: a working actor (and a
happy manager that sent the client.)

“Just
wanted to share with all the actor listers.
I just took an audition workshop with
Holly Powell and it was amazing. I’ve
taken every class known to man, but she
was really special. Great insight, kind,
and practical.”

“Holly
Powell knows acting! I know because she
has cast shows that I have directed. Holly’s
knowledge of the process of acting gives
her the unique skills to coach an actor
into a better performance. Her compassion
for actors provides a safe haven to risk
and try new choices. When I teach with
Holly, our styles are so compatible. I
think what we have in common is that we
genuinely LIKE actors and RESPECT what
they do”.

I had gone on hundreds of auditions and
wasn’t booking. My third audition
after your class I booked a Disney series!
Thanks Holly, you really know what you
are doing!”

“Holly,
I had been doing a new monologue and was
at an audition Sunday…using your
“3 minute bubble”…when
I lost a line, but was so focused in my
world that I picked it up, got the same
emotional truth and nailed it twice…better
in the re-direct. I thought of my journey
this past year and how all the work I
have done has led me to the quality of
truth that I desire…I retain confidence
and clarity…it continues to be exciting.”

“
Holly, I just want to thank you again
for all your wonderful audition techniques.
I was able to apply them instantly and
after having a one year drought on callbacks,
I booked 2 national commercials in one
day! Thank you so much for all your wisdom,
and real life scenarios that I was able
to employ instantly! You are a blessing
from God in my book and I am already recommending
your class”

“Holly,
I recommend your classes often…I
really think you offer such a valuable
service with them. I use the things you
talk about so much and always make contact
with the chair in some way and it really
helps me!”

----“Holly,
I wanted to say thank you for the lesson
yesterday. I learned more from you in
15 minutes then in most of the classes
I have taken. I felt that I was in control
for the first time, AND it took you only
5 minutes to communicate this to me.”

“
Yours was one of the first workshops I
took when I moved to LA last year and
today I am sooooo grateful that I did.
I just booked “Days Of Our Lives”
and just this week had the opportunity
to go to Producers for the first time
for “Monk”. Instead of being
nervous about the audition I had a blast
and loved it, because I had a good solid
base on what to expect thanks to your
workshop.
“….
and for all you Texas peeps who wanted
to know about Holly Powell’s “Pre-Read
To Network” workshop, the information
is attached. She was a Casting Director
here in LA for 20+ years and is originally
from Texas. I can’t say enough good
things about this class! When I went to
Producers for the first time, this class
had given me the prep I needed for that
experience.”

Hi Judy! Would you pass this opportunity
on to your readers? I’ve taken Holly
Powell’s workshop before and she
is fantastic! You will experience the
casting experience from the “First
Cold Read” through “Going
to Producers and Network”! It’s
very fun and eye-opening educational.”

“
Holly, you provided some fabulous “aha!”
moments that were profoundly enlightening
and provided a clarity of understanding
that I sorely needed…and since embracing
your classes, I have never ENJOYED auditioning
more! But the most important thing is:
I am LOVING the dreaded audition process
thanks to a shift in my thinking…thanks
to you!”

“…yours
is truly the best workshop I have ever
taken, and I am not just saying that to
score points…I mean what I say,
you make it so safe and fun; and you provide
so much information that we do not get
as actors in just the typical “cold
read” class. You are offering actors
something they will need in the future
in every audition situation and they can
put it into action immediately, and you
do it with warmth and kindness, which
is not always the case with some teachers.”

“Having
graduated from a top 10 BFA Acting program,
I’m careful about selecting classes
that will compliment the training I already
have. No University teaches what Ms Powell
does. She has such a unique perspective,
having worked in every level of the casting
process, and brings real-world experiences
and examples into her classroom. Ms Powell’s
ability to coach an audition from the
perspective of the Casting Director, Producer,
and Studio and Network Executive is indispensable
for any actor to audition for TV. She
has such a kind heart for actors and their
craft. She is a true pleasure to work
with and to learn from.”

I wanted to thank you so much for your
wonderful class and kindness. After your
class I woke this morning with a huge
amount of energy… You are an incredible
teacher and such a positive role model
for people in the entertainment business.
I highly recommend your class to anyone
in the entertainment business…not
just actors”

“…I
loved the talk for the first class…it’s
such an inspiration to go back to all
I learned in acting school and then forgot
through the years. The biggest thing I
got from the talk was that we stop paying
attention to our partners in an audition
(the Casting Director in this case), because
we think we should just look back at our
lines and get ready to “act”
when our partner is doing their lines.
We lose the whole reason for what our
lines were reacting to…we lose the
reason for the scene and it just becomes
about impressing the Casting Director
with how we can imitate the scene…but
not really play it because we’re
NOT LISTENING TO YOU…we’re
just preparing to impress you with our
next line. And even if we have a lot of
experience and can approximate an authentic
performance…it’s just not
the real thing and no fun to do. Anyhow,
just some feedback on one of the things
you said that was so important to me…because
really we do much more auditioning than
the actual jobs, so to enjoy it and make
it fulfilling means you’re not wasting
your life energy and (don’t tell
anyone) might actually get the job. Just
my way of saying…I’ll see
you next week to see what other things
you might remind me of.”
